Easter Sunday | April 5, 2026, 11 am
Mark 16:1-8

What do you do with Easter when the world feels like it’s still on the cross? When neighbors are afraid, families are being separated, and the news reads like a dirge? When people you love are being targeted simply for who they are? And yet — somewhere in us, there is still the stubborn impulse to get dressed, show up, and dare to say Alleluia out loud. Come do that with us.

That’s exactly what the first Easter was. Not a spring morning full of lilies and brass bands and easy joy. The Gospel of Mark gives us the real story: three women, sick with grief, making their way to a tomb — bewildered, afraid, holding onto nothing but love and duty. What they found there didn’t immediately comfort them. It overwhelmed them. They fled. They were terrified. And that terror, that amazement — that is where real resurrection faith is born. Not in certainty, but in the hollow, trembling, world-altering encounter with an empty grave.

Join us this Easter Sunday as we preach A Grown Up Easter — a sermon for people who are done with the sugar-coated version and ready for the real thing. For people who know what it is to wait in the dark, to hold on when the future is uncertain, to love when love costs something. Shiloh is that kind of people. And the risen Christ, beloved, is that kind of Lord. Come as you are. Bring your bewilderment. Bring your grief. Bring your defiant, stubborn, beautiful hope. Christ is risen — and that changes everything.

Worship begins at 11:00 am. Shiloh Baptist Church, 1 Holton Street, Medford. All are welcome.

See the Shiloh Worship Page for Online Access to Worship.
