Pastoral Leadership & Care at Shiloh
The Rev. Dr. Jaron S. Green serves as Senior Pastor of the historic Shiloh Baptist Church of Medford, where faith and community have shaped a powerful witness across generations. His ministry has spanned the pulpit, the public square, and the personal lives of those he serves. In addition to his dynamic preaching ministry, Dr. Green is a respected conference speaker, panelist, and guest lecturer, having presented at Harvard University, Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management, and Stonehill College. His scholarship explores Black fatherhood, educational equity, belonging, and the transformative power of authentic school-family partnerships.
As a pastor and spiritual advisor, Dr. Green has carried hope into hard places, walked alongside families through seasons of grief and breakthrough, and helped congregations deepen their sense of purpose and public witness. His ministry bridges biblical preaching, pastoral care, civic leadership, faith-based outreach, and the development of leaders prepared to serve a changing world.
Dr. Green brings a rich academic foundation to a career grounded in restorative justice, culturally responsive education, family and community engagement, and leadership development. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, with studies concentrated in Biblical Studies and Social Science; a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College; and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. His continued professional and ministerial preparation includes studies in Project Management at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, where he received the LindenLeader Award for outstanding service. He is a 2008 alumnus of Harvard Divinity School’s Summer Leadership Institute and pursued further study at Harvard through the Minister in the Vicinity program. In 2017, he received the Journey Alumni Award from Cambridge College.
Dr. Green’s commitment to public service extends beyond the church and classroom. He has served on the boards of several notable organizations and is a former Vice Chair of the Human Rights Commission in the city of Melrose, Massachusetts. Through his work as a senior pastor and church planter, he has developed outreach partnerships with the Boston Children’s Hospital, Somerville Homeless Coalition, public schools, and numerous social service agencies. His ministry’s missions efforts have extended domestically and internationally, reaching communities in Alaska, Haiti, and Romania.
Through restorative practices, culture development, and mentorship for young men of color, Dr. Green approaches every initiative with strategic clarity and unwavering commitment to equity and excellence. Dr. Green was most recently honored at Morehouse College, where he was inducted into the Martin Luther King, Jr. College of Ministers and Laity Board of Preachers, Scholars, and Sponsors, a class of adaptive leaders who practice in the Black Social Gospel tradition and whose ethical, spiritual, and moral leadership helps shape a more just world.
Across the many lanes of ministry and leadership entrusted to him, Dr. Green remains guided by a consistent calling to serve with faith and lead with compassion. His life and ministry are strengthened by the love and support of his wife, Concetta, and their daughters. His mission remains steadfast: To help people and communities move toward empowerment.
