Wait. Brace. Lead with Grace
Jame 5:7-10

This Sunday at Shiloh, we step into the deep work of Advent—the season that asks us to wait with hope, brace with courage, and love with intention. But waiting isn’t easy. Especially when life feels like airport delays, long lines, canceled plans, and turbulence that rattles your spirit. Advent doesn’t pretend any of that away. Instead, scripture invites us to ask: Who do we become in the waiting?

James 5 – and Advent -give us a word for weary people living through stressful times: be patient like a farmer, strengthen your heart, and whatever you do—don’t turn on each other. In a world where impatience, pushiness, and grumbling come naturally, the gospel calls us to a different witness. Join us as we explore how to wait well, brace wisely, and practice the kind of grace that helps us all get through the bumps together.

Come be encouraged. Come be challenged. Come be part of a community learning to live with hope when the world feels uncertain.
