“While I Have Breath”
Psalm 150:1-6

Some Sundays praise comes easy. Other Sundays it sticks in your throat. The bills are still on the table, the diagnosis hasn’t changed, the person you prayed for is still gone, and somebody up front is telling you to lift your hands. What are you supposed to do with that?

Psalm 150 doesn’t ask how your week went. It doesn’t wait on the test results or the bank balance. It closes with a line that refuses to make exceptions: let everything that breathes praise the Lord. Not everything that’s winning. Not everything that’s comfortable. Everything that breathes.

This Sunday at Shiloh, Rev. Dr. Green invites us into the hard and holy claim that our praise was never tied to our circumstances, because it was never about our circumstances. It’s about a God whose goodness doesn’t change when the news does. If there’s breath in your body, you’ve got a reason. Come find out what it sounds like to praise God anyway.
